Great news – the folks at Opus One have offered us a pair of tickets to see this duo in concert on Friday, May 17 at Club Cafe. Tickets are also available for purchase at this link.
Ferraro and Luckett are well-known in the women’s music circuit. Ferraro is a Pittsburgh native and well-known vocalist on the local jazz circuit. She’s also a composer, a music director and has worked with everyone from Marvin Hamlisch to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Luckett grew up on multiple continents and her music reflects a very interesting array of “world music” influence.
To be honest, I was never a world music fan – but tonight I’ve been listening to their albums as I work my way through a lot of really chaotic, tough news & information and it is proving to be soothing or perhaps just calming. And sometimes in the midst of all this crazy, a live music performance can be just the thing to regain a sense of balance.
Together, they’ve released three albums, one inspired by the poetry of Rumi – On the Way of Love. This single, Sacred Ground, is from their latest effort – “Awe”
Here’s how the raffle/contest works
- Leave a comment (either in the box that says “Leave a Comment” or click on “Leave a Reply” link) Be sure your comment has some identifying information so we can reach you if you win (You can link to your email, Facebook, G+, twitter, etc)
- THEN click on the Rafflecopter and check off that you’ve left a comment.
- You can also click on the other options (Like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter) and fill out those fields. Don’t worry – Rafflecopter will tell you if you’ve been successful.
- That’s it!
- Consider this the cyberequivalent of being handed a strip of paper raffle tickets and having to figure out which to keep while writing all of your contact info on those little lines! 🙂
Good luck!
