Allegheny Co DHS Quarterly LGBTQ Meeting

Information on an upcoming meeting that might be of interest – Sue

Allegheny County Department of Human Services is committed to serving all individuals and families without discrimination.  With this in mind, we are in the process of developing Standards of Practice for DHS and our contracted providers to guide our interactions and support our children, adolescents, and adults who identify as LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning.)

Please save the date for the upcoming DHS LGBTQ Community of Practice scheduled for December 8, 2014.  During this meeting we hope to have an open dialogue with community stakeholders and recipients of service on our Draft Standards of Practice. These Standards contain the fundamental guidance and expectations for both DHS and our contracted providers for service provision over a range of practice issues, such as appropriate care within residential housing, confidentiality, appropriate disclosure, referrals for services, personal vs professional values, etc. But we need feedback from you before finalizing and training staff on these practices.

Please join us for this discussion-based meeting. Logistical information for the DHS LGBTQ Community of Practice is listed below.  Those who RSVP by December 2 will receive a draft copy of the Standards to review in advance.
