We are honored once again to receive your nominations in the 2015 Keystone Alliance Gaylife Newsletter Reader’s Choice Awards. Our blog is a regular contributor to their publication and we are thrilled to have so much community support for our work. The Keystone Alliance Gaylife Newsletter is a tri-state organization with a national and regional focus based in Johnstown, PA
We raise money for charity, provide monthly support meetings/educational events, we host gay pride events, sponsor free HIV Testing and education, encourage political exchange and dialogue, sponsor educational events and speakers, we host the Reader’s Choice Awards, run several pageants and write editorials in various local newspapers. We sponsor a TV show on local cable to help raise awareness for the Trevor Project. We stand up for those who need protection and equal rights in our community. We provide a twice monthly news publication and Thursday Weekly Updates with various news columns and information.
A friend who blogs in another state told me how envious he was that a community group takes the time to acknowledge local blogging as well as more typical LGBTQ activities. He has a good point. It is very nice to be acknowledged by your friends and neighbors.

That’s a lot of categories for Sue Kerr – LOL. It is very sweet and encouraging to be nominated in so many categories. I’ve been fortunate to receive multiple awards over the past four years, including a special editors choice award. It is really sort of shocking to gain even more nominations each year. Wow. I’ve never in my life thought blogging would lead to a congeniality award, that’s for sure. Thank you to each person who nominated us for all of these categories.
We now enter the semi-final voting (February 1-28, 2015) during which time any of you reading this blog can cast a vote. The process is simple.
- Visit the nomination website to review the ballot.
- Make your selections in each category. We suggest you cut and paste the categories into a blank email.
- Submit the ballot by email.
The finalists will be announced on March 1 and final voting will begin.
Thanks in advance for voting for us, but I’d really appreciate you voting in general. The lists of nominees are quite lengthy and there are many terrific groups & organizations who deserve your support. You never know how much of a lift you can offer someone by taking time to appreciate their work, their art and their presence in our community.
