Please Help Search for Andre Gray This Saturday Feb 7 on the North Side

Andre Gray
Andre Gray

Andre Gray has been missing since late October. As I’ve written before, Andre is a member of the local LGBTQ community.

This Saturday his family and friends are asking you to join them in a search for information on his whereabouts. They will be canvassing the Spring Garden neighborhood (North Side) where his car was found abandoned. This includes posting and distributing flyers, talking with neighbors and residents and raising awareness of his disappearance. Your participation will also remind his family, especially his mother Victoria and his godmother Carla, that Andre’s life matters to us.

If you can participate, please meet at Judah Christian Fellowship on the North Side at 11:30 AM. Victoria has asked me to encourage you to wear yellow or green to symbolize their renewed hope to find Andre and bring him home. Please dress for the weather and for walking. There is street parking near the church and it will be open to allow you access to a warm space and needed facilities.

A message from his family (written by his godmother, Carla)

We will meet at 11:30 am for coffee and a brief prayer. We need as many of his friends, family & associates to come out to help in the search and show your support. We will be wearing yellow and green shirts for the cause and to show to unity. Please bring items with you that you feel can aid in the search, but please NO WEAPONS!

The search will begin at 12 pm and we will have flyers to distribute. Victoria Gray-Tillman and myself will stay behind at the church to assist anyone who shows up after 12.

Please inbox me, Victoria Gray Tillman or Javon Hutcherson and let us know what your plans are in aiding in this search. We appreciate your love, prayers and support during these past months.

We look forward and meeting you Saturday!
Thank you!

Many people are stepping forward to lend their support to the search for Andre – including Project Silk, Most Wanted Fine Art, Judah Christian Fellowship, and local blogger Thomas C. Waters. The Gray family is working with the Safe Space project at Persad Center and has reached out to other organizations, asking for us to support Andre.

Unfortunately, I will be out of town on Saturday at the PA Progressive Summit (where I hope to connect with other regional sources to help with the search.) I am working with members of the community to establish a reward fund via a crowdfund. We hope to have that in place by Tuesday. In the meantime you can take donations to a PNC branch for deposit to the “Andre Gray Missing Persons Fund.” There is a reward of $1000 through Crimestoppers, but we hope to significant increase the amount with your help.
