UPDATED Pittsburgh Will NOT Enforce Free Speech Zones at Pridefest

That was quick. This came in from the City of Pittsburgh via Sonya Toler.

Sight and Sound zones are outside of the following locations:
100 Wood Street
PNC 1st Side Park
BNY Mellon Plaza
PNC Triangle Park
620 Liberty Avenue
Liberty Center
Federal Building
Corner Adjacent from the Federal Building
The Zones will be there for any one who wishes to avail themselves those areas for the purpose of protesting. here is no requirement that all protests must take place in these locations.
No requirement. That’s a fast change, but definitely the right thing to do. The plan announced yesterday was not workable or fair.
UPDATE: According to Toler, the plans announced Friday were never the official plans. Now those plans came from multiple sources so that statement makes me even more incredulous about how the City is handling this entire situation. I sure hope someone makes time to come to Shut It Down tonight and not just rely on Twitter to relay information back to the Mayor and City officials.
