Workshop for Local Media on LGBTQ Issues, Community – June 8 @PersadCenter

Registration now OPEN for the LGBTQ Media Training scheduled for Thursday, June 8, from 1-5 PM at Persad Center. This session is brought to you by Sequal Consulting Pittsburgh Lesbian Correspondents and sponsors ACLU of Pennsylvania and Three Rivers Community Foundation.

The workshop will cover best practices and includes two panels: one of media professionals and one of LGBTQ community members, both facilitated by Jodi Hirsh. Panelists include (list still being updated): Mike Fuoco of the Post-Gazette, Deanna Garcia from WESA, Rebecca Addison of the City Paper, Atiya Irvin-Mitchell of the Chatham Communique, Celeste Scott, Ciora Thomas, Samone J Riddle, and Reverend Shanea Leonard,

You will walk away with a thorough explanation of best practices, lots of real life examples from the journalists and the community and a list of resources for future stories, including contact information for leaders in the LGBTQ Community.

Registration Fees are:
$25/media professionals
$15/citizen journalists
$10/students (those under 18 may attend with responsible adult)
