The weekend of August 19-20 brings two funsational events to the Northside of Pittsburgh with good food and libations paired with smoking hot drag and burlesque shows. What more poetic way to show up and support the lives of our neighbors than by supporting queer performing artists, especially one event organized by a Latina queer mama and another by a black drag queen who has been setting the standard for queer performing arts long before it was mainstream?

Saturday Evening

Viva Valezz hosts ‘HEAT 4 Smoldering Bellydancing & Burlesque Showcase” at James Street. This event fuses the art forms of bellydancing and burlesque for a sizzling evening of queer artistry. Doors at 9 PM, performances begin at 10 PM (ends by 11:30, so don’t roll in too late!)  Table service throughout the evening.

$10 general admission (standing room expected) Tables can be reserved through Friday morning, then door admission only.
