Grief Is No Excuse for Racism

You can condemn Rahmael Holt for his actions. You can condemn the content of his character.

But condemning him for being black eliminates your moral high ground. And you know what I mean. You know the things people are saying. Do you push back?

Using the murder of a young cop to unleash your racist hate is vile and a disservice to the legacy you claim to mourn. It’s an inevitable outcome of our fetishism of cop culture, but I doubt you see that this talk about bond pens and handcuffs is terrifying.

I can’t stop you, but I can remind you that I see and hear you. You don’t fool me. You are the threat to society. To my family. To my neighbors.

You have the capacity to mourn a loss without letting grief consume your soul. You get no pass on this one.

And don’t think for a minute that your ugly, vicious behavior isn’t being documented. I’m not the only one who sees you.
