#AMPLIFY Receives $4,000 Grant for Rural Outreach in Southwestern PA

We are very excited to announce that #AMPLIFY has been awarded $4000 by the Three Rivers Community Foundation to support outreach and visibility throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Our plans include teaming up with local partners in the following counties to organize individual outreach events throughout the rest of 2018: Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Somerset, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. These are the regions of Southwestern PA that are underrepresented in the project. Events can be as simple as casual meeting at a coffeehouse or local LGBTQ spot to something more expansive already in place.

Three Rivers Community Foundation (TRCF) advances social change through grantmaking, advocacy, and capacity development for grassroots and other organizations. TRCF embraces and practices Change, not charity™ by empowering grantee organizations to ensure social, economic, and environmental justice in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Yay! This will mainly look like a ‘coffeehouse tour’ but we are very open to scheduling small meetings at any welcoming venue. The Amplify LGBTQ Project

Here’s are opportunities for you (all are compensated):

Be a local organizer on the ground in this area to organize a stop in your community. This is essentially organizing a meeting – identitying a location, helping to promote as appropriate, and being present to share your story. We’d also like to distribute promotional materials to LGBTQ welcoming/affirming spaces that will display them (posters, card, etc)

Graphic Designer – we need to design the promotional materials for these meetings/this project.

If you are interested in supporting this effort, please message me. Priority consideration will be given to AMPLIFY contributors and members of the LGBTQ community.

If you are interested, please email pghlesbian@gmail and use the word AMPLIFY in the subject line! This is an ASAP opportunity.

The geographic areas are: Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Somerset, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
