Update on the #DavisGirls Foster Kittens from Pittsburgh’s Northside

These three six-week-old kittens from #AlleghenyWest had a rough start with limited food sources and Mama bullied by other community cats.

I trapped them last week over the course of five nights. Sticking with my soap opera names, I dubbed these the Davis Girls, referencing the nickname for the adult daughters of Alexis Davis on General Hospital – Sam, Kristina, and Molly. Two of these kittens are female, one is male but they don’t have issues with the name. Kittens aren’t wedded to gender norms.

The #dilutecalico DLH is matted and filthy dirty, but lays quietly on my lap while I work on his coat. The #calico is sweet and likes us, but her mistrustful siblings confuse her. And the #browntabby is days behind bc she was the last one trapped.

They deserve better, at least decent food, water, and shelter. They are young enough that we should be able to make up their deficits and give them a chance at the inside kitten life.

Grateful @PittsburghCAT took them in and honored to be their foster moms.

We hope to raise $600 to cover their veterinary expenses and supplies. We’ve raised $300 so far. This lifts some of the burden from an already overextended rescue group.

We have to spend a lot of time in their room so they learn to trust us. Once they are held, they relax and enjoy being petted. But they panic when we pick them up for any reason. Poor things.
