Recent events have made it clear that this 18 year old blog could be in peril. That would mean the loss of thousands of blog posts chronicling LGBTQ narratives from Pittsburgh, Western PA, and beyond. This includes over 300 stories in the #AMPLIFY project, 350 memorial posts honoring our trans neighbors, and hundreds of posts interviewing politicians and elected officials on LGBTQ issues.
In an era where LGBTQ, feminist, and progressive media sources are shrinking, the need for independent voices like you find here continues to grow. Our blog does run some ads through She Media Network, but that revenue covers less than 10% of the costs to operate. The expenses increase each year – website hosting, domain tools, email, social media software, plugins, licensing, etc. None of our bloggers are paid, we can’t even offer a stipend. It comes from my pocket and my primary source of income is SSDI.
So we count on you to help maintain the blog so it can one day be archived somewhere appropriate. We also need your help to continue our award winning coverage of topics that matter to you.
