My love/hate relationship with crowdfunding continues. In addition to supporting my blogging, I’m relying on donations to manage legal costs.
Technically, I’m involved in three legal battles. First was the defamation case around the Protect Trans Kids project.
Then came family court sorting out the ramifications of all that’s happened. Perhaps of most interest is that Pennsylvania courts have not ruled on “gay divorce” that involves many years of a registered domestic partnership. Can you imagine the consequences if they strike down these partnerships?
Finally, we recently filed civil rights violations during the attempted involuntary civil commitment last year. Read more.
Then I have to support myself with costs of living, pay the blogging bills, deal with not having a car, take care of my health, and deal with 40 million medical appointments I wasn’t able to address.
I will continue to blog. New ideas are germinating. I’m working on a grant to revisit The AMPLIFY project in 2025 to celebrate 10 years. Political Q&A season will be here soon.
Project, you ask? We are organizing a yard sale to support #PghCatFolx. I wish I had time and energy to do more, but keeping the existing cats going will have to do.
If you can contribute, please do. Battling in court for LGBTQ equality and disability rights at the same time was not on my bucket list. But resistance, even defiance, when the odds are stacked against me is sort of my vibe. I guess. So I’ll regularly ask for your help.

I need to raise another $5000 at this point. That feels impossible, but we did it before.
Fusing a personal crisis with potential impact litigation on two civil rights fronts was not on my bucket list. It overwhelms me one minute, fills me with determination the next. I wish I could focus on the blog and community projects alone. Life has a tendency to up end plans. And our lives.
Here’s to walking through it together.
