Several years ago, I blogged about the evolution of Pride in Pittsburgh (and beyond.) I called it Little Pridefests Everywhere, a community oriented response to the tyranny of corporate Pride. It is a very Pittsburgh thing – a fire hall festival, a church festival in every community.
But I was genuinely shocked to see just how may hundreds of events were schedule throughout the Commonwealth in 2024. It is marvelous. It doesn’t hurt that it proves me right, LOL. This is a wonderful evolutionary step for everyone.
I have’t attended any Pride events except Pride Night at PNC Park. I am without a car so attending things is a challenge. BUT I am following along. Tonight I did a dive into recent media coverage of Pennsylvania Pride events. It is another source of joy. So I’m sharing some of the links with you to enjoy for yourself. Feel free to add additional links in areas not covered.
When I think back to my blogging start in December 2005, I would NEVER have imagined so many pride events that I could not keep track of them.
