Um, quick note, anyone listening? Here’s the thing … we made a change

It took far more effort and reading than we like, but we decided to migrate our blog subscription from MailChimp to Jetpack.

So now you will receive a daily email with any new posts. You will only receive an excerpt, not the full post – you’ll have to click for that. This means you have less content in your inbox. It is how we reduce unwanted words. Sustainability.

Our crack Jetpack teeam

If you are reading this in your inbox, it has instructions on how to opt-out, opt-back-in. First step, raise your right hand into a fist, shake repeatedly at the sky, and say “I do not like change.”

Or you can say “I don’t remember signing up for this, Sue Kerr. I’ll read the other award winning 19 year old LGBTQ blog in Pittsburgh …” Who could blame you? They are not filling your inbox with all this spam aka email.

We are being cheeky because you think we have super smooth migration tools and all that. Nope, I did this myself and I might permanently be formatting everything I write into common separated values. Please, please know I did the best I could to not miss anyone. If you need to leave, please don’t yell at me. Or yell, at, me, either.

Seriously, this was a cost decision. MailChimp is just way too pricey for us and also incredibly complicated. Jetpack has just as many features to overwhelm us, but at more than half the price.

To ease the sting of change, I’ve included a photo of the most change-resistant members of the team. Lazy bastards They don’t even have thumbs. But I’ll sit on the floor and type so they can get their beauty rest. I’m the cat lady around here, but there’s more gratitude in the cousin JD Vance house for cat ladies than there is here.

JD and I are 8th cousins. 8x cousins basically means “also exist in time as humans” but still …
