Still Seeks Donations of Household Goods and Pet Items
The (back)Yard Sale is now unofficially tied to one of college football’s most famous rivalry – Pitt v WVU in what’s known as the Backyard Brawl. Both take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The yard sale is 10-12, leaving plenty of time to tailgate for the 3:30 football game. The back yard itself is just a 3 minute walk to the scene of the brawl.
We are accepting donations until Friday, September 13, 2924.. Today, we really need towels and ceramic/steel bowls, paper plates/bowls <— popular with feral cat feeders.
.I thought you might like to browse the donations so far. Of course, they are a mix of items for the sale and items to be distributed to the rescues directly. Counting items is a little tough right now. Important to note, I can say we have 230 pet bed covers in red, blue, and green.
Rescues who send someone on 9/14 will get to choose preferred items, BUT we will allocate things equitably among the rescues who RSVPd to us even if they can’t be there.
Our goal at #PghCatFolx is to help the people who help the cats. Thus, we want each rescuer who comes for their group to select up to five items from the sale – things for you or your family. For fun, whimsy or practical use. To honor you.
We have a huge collection of toothpick holders and owls in case that is your thing.
Browse the pics but known that we haven’t opened everything. The UHaul is packed and there’s no room to take a look until we set up.
Want to volunteer? You can unpack surprise boxes filled with treasures. Someone can tape tablecloths and adjust tarps. You can set up the raffle basket all pretty and enticing. You can unfold tables and refold them afterwards. Email folx@lgbtqpgh.org to sign up!
Remember you can always use our Amazon wishlist to send items
