LGBTQ Community Vigil For Andre Gray Scheduled

Andre Gray Pittsburgh

Please join the LGBTQ community as we honor the life and mourn the death of our brother, neighbor & friend – Andre Pokie Gray. Everyone is welcome. The vigil has been organized by various community groups and with the blessing of Andre’s family.

Date: Thursday, April 23, 2015

Time: 6 PM – 7:30 PM

Location: the intersection of 51st and Butler streets in Lawrenceville.

April 23 marks six month since Andre disappeared from his Lawrenceville home. In March, we learned that Andre had been murdered that night and his body removed & put into the Allegheny River. His body was recovered in March and his family mourned his loss in April.

Andre was part of the LGBTQ community – he openly identified as a bisexual man and was also part of the local ball community. To learn more about Andre’s life, you can read a series of blog posts.

The location is the small parklet at the corner of 51st street and Butler Street in Lawrenceville (near The Blue Moon) Please gather in the parklet and along the sidewalk. We ask you to bring a candle (or light your phone) and we will also be accepting donations for the Andre Gray Memorial Fund administered by the Bloomfield Garfield Corporation.

You can also donate to the memorial fund online via Crowdrise –http://bit.ly/AndreGrayPgh
