We are currently working simultaneously on two very different crowdfunds.

First, we teamed up with the Homeless Cat Management Team and CARMAA to organize a cat food drive to specifically benefit caretakers of homeless cat colonies (feral cat colonies) in Pittsburgh. This is a good way to put resources in the hands of people doing very important work to address the problems and challenges of having so many homeless cats in our urban communities. They do trapping, they have clinics, and they have foster homes – many of which are quite crowded now that kitten season is underway. So we opted to focus on the folks on the very front lines who pay for all their cat food and supplies out of their pockets.

You can help by

• Make a financial donation through our crowdfund so HCMT can buy cat food through the year.
• Drop off cat food and supplies directly at our drop-off spot, Mr. Sign on Western Avenue on the Northside.

Second, I am working on a brand new blog project called Flipping the Script. The idea is to flip the Q&A for which I’ve become pretty well known. I have invited a range of wonderful representative people to create Q&A’s for me to answer. You can read the first one here. 

The crowdfund is how we are going to pay stipends to these people for their time – they are working on the Q&A and then writing a blog post about the experience to create a body of work to help us with important questions like “Does it matter who writes the questions?” and “How do we find new stories to tell?”
