The Prompt – How often did you have to wear a coat with your Halloween costume? Should this be a dealbreaker?
It was hit or miss. As I got older, I tried to lean into costumes that were inherently weather flexible. One year, my Dad made me a costume that allowed me to wear a full on coat underneath.
I see a lot of coats on kids these years when I’m the one handing out the treats. I also notice kids layering out which is even smarter.
This prompt feels way out of date, but given that it snowed so heavily this week that we had a white out on our street – I guess it is never inappropriate to discuss everyone having a winter coat.
There are a lot of things I’ve learned to appreciate as an adult – wearing a hat even if it messes up my hair, wearing liners in my boots, always having tissue in my pocket, and carrying a large purse.
