Video: First person view of Pittsburgh rally to reopen small business and support Trump

Lorenzo does outreach to people experiencing homelessness, neighbors who are incredibly overlooked right now. he’s been making excellent points that are not on our radar. Did you know street meals have been limited to 3 days a week? I’m appalled to realize I haven’t been thinking about this.

Lorenzo went Downtown on Monday to continue raising awareness of the needs of our homeless neighbors and was so taken aback with what he witnessed that he video recorded for about 40 minutes with commentary. It is a deep dive into the “small business” gathering.

You’ll hear him compare this rally to the direct actions he participated in to support Antwon Rose and others. He speaks to the ongoing crisis of violence and harm Black Americans face everyday as well as the struggles of homeless neighbors to get their daily needs met. He notes the Confederate flags, the Trump rally signs, the lack of face masks, the overwhelming whiteness of the rally participants, etc.

And he keeps asking “Is this really about small businesses reopening?” I’ll leave you to decide.

I urge you to make a donation to support Lorenzo for his time & energy documenting this event. Follow his social media.

Having this first-person record is vital to interpreting these events.
