While Pennsylvania is known as a primary state, the upcoming General Election has a significant number of critical races. We’ve got their Q&A’s.
Our blog has historically customized and distributed Q&A’s to candidates for political office. We want them to engage our readers, of course, but also to have information available for the general public.
Important Note – yes, we are in Pittsburgh. But about 75% of our traffic is from outside our region, including the rest of Pennsylvania. It is worth participating if you are in the Poconos, Philadelphia, or Elk County. While many of our readers are LGBTQ+, a sizeable portion are allies. In short, our readership is a solid crosssection of Democrat, progressive, and moderate voters.
Each Q&A is customized to the candidate. We send them via email and do not edit responses. Our goal is to bring your voice to our readers with as few filters as possible.
**New this year. We have built up a sizable number of candidates running for office every two years who have responded each cycle. People like Congresswoman Summer Lee and State Representative Emily Kinkaid have faithfully participated. So we will offer those folx an abbreviated, but still customized, Q&A. A lot can happen in two years time, but we don’t want this to be arduous.
This is not an endorsement. Our requirements to participate
- Running for elected office anywhere in Pennsylvania at any level of government
- Actively affirm LGBTQ rights and equality
- Identify as pro-choice
- Support Kamala Harris as the Democrat Party nominee for President
I strongly encourage you to read previous Q&A’s as they are often in-depth.
Once you agree to participate, I will customize a Q&A and send it to you by email. You will have three weeks to return it via email. If you need to adjust your deadline, please reach out to me. Note that I do spend a lot of hours researching and creating the Q&A so we are counting on you to honor your commitment. Candidates who do not do so will not be invited to participate in future election cycles. Campaign managers who treat my readers with similar disrespect will not be invited to participate in future election cycles.
Once the Q&A is published, I will share widely on my socials through Election Day. These Q&A’s tend to remain popular year round.
To participate, please have the campaign reach out to me pghlesbian@gmail.com. As with each year, I will be contacting your campaigns through your website, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I urge supporters to send this post to your candidates and ask them to participate.
Thank you.
