GAYla Weekend at Pittsburgh Public Market

Pittsburgh Public Market presents “GAYla Weekend”

Fri March 30th through Sun April 1st.

Friday 10 – 4, Saturday 9 – 5, and Sunday 10 – 4

Strip District on Smallman Street, between 16th & 17th.

The goal of GAYla Weekend is simply to bring awareness to the LGBTQ community in Pittsburgh, and to make sure that the Market is known as a safe, friendly place for all. It’s about celebrating and honoring differences and making sure that people feel safe, accepted, appreciated, etc.  It’s about taking that child-friendly and family-friendly space that  already exists and making sure that everyone knows that safety and friendship extend to all corners of the greaterPittsburgh community.
Aside from Pittsburgh Public Market’s regular merchants (with goods such as fresh produce, dairy, beer, wine, baked goods, hot foods, jewelry, soaps, baby items, alpaca wool garments, olive oils & vinegars, honey, books, etc.) a variety of LGBTQ-friendly guests will be present to display information about their respective organizations:

  • PersadCenter
  • PittsburghAIDS Task Force (PATF)
  • Delta Foundation
  • Fair Housing Partnership
  • Dreams of Hope
  • Gay & LesbianCommunity CenterofPittsburgh(GLCC)
  • Parents and Friends of Lesbians & Gays (PFLAG)
  • Pride
  • Dawn Hartman (Photographer)
  • SteelCitySoftball League (SCSL)
  • Live Music in the PPM Cafe!

Sounds like a great family outing! (Ha, pun!)
