7 Things To Know About the Pgh Police Pride Decal #Stickygate
All the hullabaloo this week has been over these stupid decals. Of COURSE it is homophobic to get your knickers in a twist about an LGBTQ decal. What’s more, it is also homophobic for the FOP to use this as issue to bash the powers that be. Homophobia is definitely at play. Every place I’ve ever […]
Pittsburgh Pridefest: The Resistance Years
The roots of what we’ve come to know as Pridefest in Pittsburgh are, as with many cities, deeply embedded in LGBTQ culture and more as we moved from the multiple resistance efforts in the 1960’s to a nationwide demand for visibility and freedom. At no point was this more apparent than in June 2015 […]
Krista, 28, Lives in Washington, PA as a Pansexual Woman #AMPLIFY
Tell me about the first LGBTQ person whom you met. What impact did they have on your life? My first LGBTQ connection felt like a light bulb going off in a sense, like a bright light shining in a once dark room. I wasn’t alone. Meeting someone else like myself, was refreshing and simultaneously made me realize that I wasn’t the outcast the small town I had grown up in had made me feel like. Meeting my first LGBTQ friend was life changing for me. From being bullied, and told I was some sort of freak of nature – to meeting someone else who understood my life experiences, who had gone through them, was amazing.

Another Highland Park Reservoir Duck Update
You remember there is a situation at the Reservoir with ducklings dying? After a lot of back and forth, I have a formal response from PWSA. Two key facts They have established a ‘hotline’ of sorts for people to report wildlife (and other) emergencies to a 24/7 dispatch team at 412-255-2423 (note, I have no idea if […]
