Her own experiences with cPTSD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and other health challenges have fueled her health blogging and activism. She also writes extensively about her family history, drawing on her amateur genealogy hobby. The blog regularly reviews arts and cultural events as well as exploring restaurants, soap opera storylines, and hyper-local news. Sue and her wife Laura have been together since 2003. They were married on a very cold February 2, 2021 in their backyard at a very small ceremony co-officiated by their pagan priestess friend, Anne, and then-Mayor Bill Peduto. They have six niblings, four in Pittsburgh and two in Philadelphia.

Libertarian Former Marine Reads Correspondent!

It was bound to happen I suppose, but geez it was cool.  A friend of mine, libertarian in his views but openminded in his practices, mentioned that he stumbled across my blog while wasting his precious personal time on the Internet.  I was all smiles. Then he asked me if I've had any other visitors […]

Ricky and Friends: "Don't Fool With the Church"

Yesterday, Rick and his hate-mongerer-in-Christian-clothing buddies spewed the typical claptrap at Justice Sunday III Mr. Santorum said “extreme liberal judges” are “destroying traditional morality and creating a new moral code.” “The Supreme Court has become the supreme branch of the government imposing its unrestrained will on all of the people,” Mr. Santorum said. “The only […]

10 Reasons Gay Marriage is Wrong

10 Reasons Gay Marriage is Wrong

This is making the rounds.  Found it at HouseBlend Ten Reasons Gay Marriage Is Wrong1. Being gay is not natural. And as you know Americans have always rejected unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning. 2. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will […]

Mass voters claim tricked into signing anti-gay petition

This from 365gay.com …. (Boston, Massachusetts) “I don’t want to alarm you, but was your signature stolen?” That is the beginning of an automated telephone message that is going out to thousands of homes throughout Massachusetts. The calls to 10,000 people, along with letters to another 14,000, warn that they may have unwittingly signed petitions […]

Book of Daniel

Book of Daniel

Two hour premiere tonight.   Found it to be engaging, more reminiscent of Picket Fences than Joan of Arcadia. With a salty dash of Desperate Housewives tossed in or perhaps it was the similar background music?  Either way, the gay characters are soooo not the biggest issue for the American Family Association.  This show has several flavors […]

NBC's Today Reviews Brokeback Mountain: Labels Character Predator

NBC's Today Reviews Brokeback Mountain: Labels Character Predator

From Pam's House Blend and GLAAD Gene Shalit of the Today show offered a strange review of Brokeback Mountain, characterizing Jake Gyllenhaal's character as a sexual predator because he's gay.  He dredges up a classic predator/victim gay stereotype that indicates, IMHO, that Shalit was uncomfortable with the movie.  Homophobic?  Yes.  Should GLAAD have called him […]
